This is the first thing we need to know, because it changes the equipment completely.
Chlorine or chloramine, disinfection byproducts, and taste and smell complaints, often with some hardness on top. Usually catalytic carbon, with or without softening. Simpler to solve, and the systems cost less.

Iron, hydrogen sulfide, sediment, low pH and sometimes bacteria. These often have to be handled in stages, which is why we test before we quote. Wells are a meaningful share of what we do, especially in the outer counties.

BluePeak is run by Branden, and when you book a water test, he is the person at your kitchen sink doing it. No commissioned closer, no script, no two-hour presentation.
He will walk you through what your water actually shows, including the parts that are perfectly fine. If your water does not need a system, he will tell you that, which costs sales and is the reason the prices are on the website in the first place.

Legal and clean aren't the same standard. Municipal water in the Triangle meets every federal and state requirement, and the utilities do their job well. But the standards regulate a specific list of contaminants at specific levels — they don't cover taste, they don't cover chlorine byproducts, and they don't cover everything that's been found in Piedmont surface water over the last decade. Whether you need a system is a question about what's actually coming out of your tap and what bothers you. That's what the free test is for. If your water's fine, we'll tell you that.

Most whole-home systems are a half day. A reverse osmosis drinking system under the sink is usually two to three hours. If you need both, plan on one full day.
On our tank-based whole-home systems: lifetime on the tank, the brine tank and the valve's ceramic disc, for as long as you own the system. Five years on the valve body, the control board, the resin and the carbon. One year on our labor. Reverse osmosis, UV and pre-filter units carry their own shorter terms, and each product page lists them. The specific terms for your system are written into your signed agreement — we don't hide them.
Yes, and it's a meaningful share of what we do. Wells in Wake, Harnett, Chatham and Johnston counties commonly come back with iron, hydrogen sulfide, sediment or low pH. Those need genuinely different equipment than a city water home — which is why we test first instead of quoting off a price list.
